How to Find Out Your Computer Name, MAC Address, and IP Address

With the introduction of Windows 7 networking computers is becoming easier. Your computer hold some crucial information that can help make networking to other computers easier. Follow these steps and you will be a networking wiz in no time.



  1. Click start (or the windows button in Windows Vista or 7)

  2. Click on Run (type run in the search field in Vista or 7)

  3. Type: CMD (press enter)

  4. Type: Hostname (press enter)

  5. It will display your computer name.

  6. Type: ipconfig/all (press enter)

    This will bring up all sort of important information including your IP address and MAC address.
