Help desk Technician Job Description

 

PC TLC, Inc. is a small, fast-growing technology support company. We support both business networks as well as residential customers' computer systems. We are now hiring for a Part time Helpdesk Technician. This position is for 20-30h per week with flexible hours. May be asked to work up to 40 hours depending on workload. We plan for this position to become Full Time within 90 days.

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Field telephone calls from customers and prospects. Answer all questions with clarity and confidence. Many issues are resolved over the phone. If the issue cannot be resolved in a timely manner over the phone or remotely, an on-site service call will be scheduled

  • Perform security and preventative maintenance on PCs and networks

  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and

    optimization of customers’ network hardware, software, and communication links

  • Participate in managing PCTLC.com live chat support

  • Communicate with customers to provide daily updates on computer repair progress

  • Keep detailed electronic records of all customer and prospect interaction through our online tracking system called Roxanne.

     

 

Qualifications:

• Working towards a computer related Associates degree or higher

• Customer-oriented mentality with exceptional people skills

• First-rate verbal communications skills

• Ability to effectively share technical information with customers and other

team members

• Experience with Microsoft desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office, virus removal, and

knowledge with networking and servers

• Investigative approach to problem solving with fine attention to detail.

• Desire to constantly build knowledge and skill base

 Compensation: 

This position is hourly, pay based on experience. If made FT, this will be compensated as described below.
