How does our Data Recovery process work?

The first step is to power down your computer and bring it into our shop. We can also schedule a pickup for a nominal charge. We will fill out some check-in documentation to get the information we need to begin. Then we will remove the hard drive from your computer and evaluate the basic condition and functionality of your disk. If the drive is at least partially operational, we will plug it into our dedicated data recovery computer system that will scan the drive at a low-level to analyze the files that are available that a regular computer can’t see. In most cases this preliminary scan take 4-8hrs. After this scan is complete we will call you with an update on your drive.  Our flat-rate for data recovery is only $89 which includes software based recovery methods. Sometimes drives fail physically due to damaged motor or electronics. Hardware-based date recovery must be quoted on a per-drive basis as the costs vary widely based on the specific situation.
